Amanda KIng on her 2012 Ducati Monster 796. You can see shes tip-toeing so shes considering getting a lower seat. Read her full review of the 796 here and find out modifications she did.

I purchased a Ducati Monster 796 this month and have fallen in love! It’s sexy and nimble, and is a blast to ride. At 5-feet-3, it is a tad tall—I cannot be “flat footed” when sitting on it—but can touch the ground, and havent had any issues. I installed a 696 rear upper shock mount and this lowered the height a bit too.

I am contemplating purchasing a lower seat at some point, just to have more of my foot on the ground comfortably. Give this bike a little bit of gas, and it is eager to take you as fast as you dare! (Doesnt it sound hilarious when it grunts? I thought about naming it “Piglet.”)

The brakes are also eager to bring you to a stop, but after a few rides it all falls into place beautifully! The 796 also has an ABS option. This bike rides wonderfully, and as you lay down close to the tank you have the sensation of flying—like you are riding “head first” down the road.

I am particularly fond of the silk frost pearl white color with the red frame. This is my third year riding, and my first sportbike (my previous bike was a dual sport and more dirt oriented). I am very excited to have discovered your site and the WRN Forum! I dont really know any other women who ride, and am excited to meet new people with a shared interest. Thanks for reading to my story and allowing me an opportunity to share a bit about my new bike.
