I just completed the basic rider course in Pheonix. I have a Suzuki Burgman scooter and took my first ride on the highway last weekend. I’m 75 years and had a great feeling of accomplishment. Looking forward to my next ride.

Love this! I too started riding in my 50s. Bought my 2015 Harley-Davidson 883 Sportster Iron. My husband made it a one of a kind for me. I took the class three times and finally got it down after a year of practice. I love riding my own bike next to my husband. This year both of our bikes go to Sturgis. So excited.

Thank you for this article! I started learning to ride last year at the age of 57. Like you I think it will take me awhile to pass my test, but I practice, practice, practice! I have a great instructor and a husband who is over the moon about my decision as it means we can ride together.
The heat of an Australian summer is a challenge! But am hoping my new mesh jacket will help.
