Started riding in mid 70s. l have loved every mile and minute I ride. I can remember when there was very few women riding. I think it is great to see so many women riding now.

I love seeing more info about lady riders. Be safe. Keep the rubber side down!

This article is interesting so I wanted to share my experience. I got divorced, then moved to Florida to be near my family. My sister has been around antique bikes for years. Her husband races hand-shift Indians. I went to a holiday party and was introduced to my new husband. He wasn't into the old bikes but part of the BMW club. He took me for a ride. It was great.

I decided to take a course and get my endorsement with his encouragement. (He is a dream husband and man.) We ride with different groups of basically old men. I am almost always the only woman rider. These men were patient, kind, helpful and always ready to let me take the chances you take as you get your experience.

I love it now. I have a Honda CTX 700 and will probably have a BMW RT 1200 soon. A cross-country trip is in our future. I am and was lucky to have such a great husband and group to help me find my riding style and experience. I have been riding since April 2014 and have ridden almost 20,000 miles including the Tail of the Dragon. I started on a Honda Helix and moved up through two other bikes in a short time before the CTX 700. My husband is encouraging and very happy to have me join him in the wonderful world of biking.
