Wow, great article Gen! I learned things about Sturgis, the Buffalo Chip, da Bus, and all kinds of tid bits I never knew. And the Chip is less scary! Remember my first time there was with you! Love you Gen -- and had fun spending time with you as always.

This was my first Sturgis. My husband and I decided to ride down last minute and was surprised to get hotel room at Holiday Inn for $270 a night. One week home we tried to book for next year and already rooms are booked and expensive!

I have a cool photo of me parked on middle of Main Street standing on my Street Glide checking it out. We were sad to leave and can't wait to go back. There is so much to do you can't do it all in one year. We about broke the bank shopping! Rapid City HD offered a ton of vendors, too.

A highlight for me was a drop-dead gorgeous and fun, fun, fun ride on Iron Mountain, Custer, and Needles Highway. We were in Sturgis back in June and at that time I couldn't imagine what the big deal was. What a transformation!

What a great recap! This is just the way I remember it. Loved the picture of you and Betsy. I am sure riding with her brings back lots of fun memories. Really enjoyed riding out and back with you and sharing our $300/night Super 8 motel room with you and Jan. Sad it's over but there's always next year!

We went there in 2011 and have just booked our accomodation for 2015. Sturgis has such an amazing buzz to it that is truly something you have to do at least once in your life. I do shudder when I see all those people riding around without proper protection. I'm one of the 35 that wears my helmet as I don't believe my head is harder than the road.

It was funny when we were there in 2011 and a huge hail storm hit just as we were coming down into Deadwood. Here's all these big tough bikers pulled up on the side of the road covering their bald heads from the marble sized hail. Us girls just kept riding on killing ourselves laughing at the sight. I want to be riding for a long time, not sitting like a vegetable because I thought I was too cool to wear a helmet.
