The writer must have got a free set of these for agreeing to write a positive article. I bought a pair of the new G9s and they are worthless. WORTHLESS! Every time I call Scala customer service they tell me to to try something else. Now they tell me that what they told me before is bad advice. The G9 sounds like you are trying to communicate under water. You cannot hear anything past 35 mph. (I ride with a full face helmet). Scala cannot figure out what is wrong with them. Neither can I. Can you say that was a wasted 450 bucks? They will not work in every helmet out there as well. Scala does not tell you that until after you buy them. So be careful. Their customer service people are rude and unhelpful. Maybe the old G4s were better. Try them, avoid the G9.

Thanks for your feedback. We did get a free set of the G4s in exchange for the review, but my review is fair and true. The G9s are not the G4s. I do not have any experience with the G9s. I would suggest anyone thinking of buying a G9, be sure to read reviews and get assurances and guarantees from Cardo, the company that makes the scala rider, as much as you think you need to in order feel good about your purchase.

I've owned this unit for two years and won't ride without it. The radio is crystal clear; the Bluetooth to your phone is great. It can answer an hang up your phone with voice command. Great range with other riders. It's great when riding with a group. As road captain I can pair it with my tail gunner and always know that I have control of the group when moving through traffic and lights especially when riding in town. Well worth the money. Battery life is great. Had it on for a 10-hour ride and still had battery when returning home. Every biker should have one.

My husband and I used the scala ride r2 and then when the G4 PowerSet came out, it was a no brainer. We went from TN to FL, NC, AZ and on into CA.
The G4 lasted a lot longer that the scala 2. I was also able to plug my XM radio into the line out. So with tunes and phone plus the communication it was a wonderful trip. They are cheaper when bought on Amazon.com.

I love the G4! The sound and reception is amazing. And the best part is that you can connect with previous Scala units. I purchased the G4 off of eBay for a lot less than the MSRP so shop around. There are some good deals out there.
