I needed to get back into bikes after a long layoff. I tried the Honda VFR but it wasn't reaaly doing it. Stopped off at the Kawasaki dealer and fell in love with the 900 Custom. What a bike! I did 800 miles before Christmas, and I am waiting for the English rain to stop and spring to get here so I can ride, ride, ride.

I shopped around. Honestly I wanted a Harley, But at 6-feet-3 around 220 pounds, anything that fit my frame was going to be like a mortgage payment, even with great credit, the percentage rates they give are crazy! I felt like I was starting into a huge bottomless money pit. The worst of it being I hadn't even gotten to all the merchandising that your steered towards.

Really disappointed by the experience, I stopped at a Kawasaki dealership only to see the VN 900 custom as I walked in the door. First thought wow what a sharp looking bike, I bet it costs a fortune!

I sat on it; it fit, and was comfortable. Just holding it up was confidence inspiring. Seeing the 900 I was intially concerned by the size, but considered it would keep me interested until I managed to pay for it.

That was three weeks ago, I have 400 miles on it, and I am constantly wanting to ride it. It's so fun and confidence inspiring. I find I am constantly thinking about where I want to ride it next, and almost have separation anxiety
parking it to go to work.

I am nearly up to my 600 mile service, and wonder OMG I hope I get it back in time for the weekend! It is such an enjoyable motorcycle to own and ride and for less then my cable bill a month. Priceless.

The only concern I have now Is my wife looking at it as competition!

I bought a 2009 Vulcan 900 Special Edition. Black and orange heads - what a combo. Bike looks way cool. This is not my first bike and I have ridden many miles on Hondas and Harleys. For the money, best bike I have ever owned. Rides like a big bike with the power of a 1200 Sportster. Highly recommended. Great fun per dollar.

My pleasure is beyond words. Quick, nimble, and a sturdy ride in traffic. My only issue is finding some watertight luggage. (Lockable and removable) Any help?
