More than 1000 woman riders travel to third annual campout

They came from all four corners of the U.S. and a few foreign places like Germany, Australia, and Mexico. More than 1,000 women traveled to a campground in Joshua Tree, Calif., October 23-25, most of them on motorcycles, for the third annual Babes Ride Out, an all-women motorcycle camping event.

Daytona's annual fall rally, Biketoberfest, gives motorcyclists a chance to extend the summer rally season by being held in October, when Florida starts to experience its best temperatures. With more than 30 female sportbike riders in attendance, some coming from as far as Utah and Ohio, this event catered to the women who love twisty roads and nimble bikes, but can’t make it to Deals Gap in North Carolina for the Women’s Sportbike Rally East, now in its tenth year.
