APPAREL REVIEW: Shift Riding Jeans & Leather Jacket

Great combination of protection and style

By Genevieve Schmitt, Photos by Rene Bruce
7/26/2010: I'm starting to feel naked these days, naked wearing my regular blue jeans, that is, when riding my motorcycle. As I add up more time and miles my desire to ride while wearing armored gear from head to toe is becoming stronger. I think it has something to do with feeling our mortality more as we age.

New Products: Items For Your Motorcycle & You

Fruit guards, jackets, tees, seats and more

7/26/2010: What a nifty gadget — plastic containers to protect your fruit from getting smooshed in your saddlebags. Check them out plus a whole lot more including a motorcycle seat that gets you down low, T-shirts that show off your biker attitude, and jackets for all kinds of riding. These are just some of the new items available now we think you'll just love, or at least want to know about.

GEAR REVIEW: Armored Gloves & Gearbag

Taking it to the next level

By Genevieve Schmitt
7/26/2010: I use to wear armored gloves just when riding a sportbike and more casual non-armored ones, like deerskins, when riding a cruiser, like my own. These days, I'm find myself wearing more protection riding my cruiser and that means looking to the sport market for armored gloves.

A New Kind of Leather Motorcycle Jacket

Where high fashion and function meet

By Genevieve Schmitt, Editor
5/16/2010: One of my great finds walking among the vendors at Arizona Bike Week in Scottsdale in April was Lycaon Custom Leathers. The high fashion stylish nature of the leather jackets hanging on the rack catches my eye. These are no ordinary riding jackets. I learn that each jacket is tanned with hydrology tanning technology, which has revolutionized the leather tanning process. This allows the leather to be cleaned by putting it in the washing machine.

See and Be Seen with Powerful Auxiliary Lighting

New lights now available for radial mounted brakes

5/1/2010: Now motorcycles with radial mounted brake calipers like the Kawasaki Concours 14 can take advantage of the extra lighting that Motolight auxiliary lighting adds to one's ride. Motolight recently introduced a version of its auxiliary lights that fits bikes where the brake caliper mount bolts are on the backside of the downtube instead of the side.

REVIEW: Candles With A Touch of Biker Naughty

Glam styles, soothing scents, earth friendly

By Genevieve Schmitt, Editor
5/4/2010: There are a lot of biker themed accessories out there but here’s one I bet you haven't seen yet: a biker themed candle. Black Corset Candles is introducing a 100 percent soy wax candle in an hourglass shaped container that’s wrapped in leather with a satin ribbon corset in the front. Works perfect for my biker themed office.

REVIEW: Olympia Moto Sports Airglide

Sun, heat, rain and wind, but anything but snow!

Story and photos by Carla King
4/19/2010: I am riding along the spine of the Middle Atlas mountains when the electrical storm hits. Hail pelts my helmet and bolts of lightening streak horizontally across the snow-dusted road ahead of me. There’s no shelter where I can pull over to bundle up under my gear, but thankfully I’d zipped the waterproof liner in before I’d headed uphill.

New Stylish Exhaust Pipes and Mufflers

Good looks plus a louder sound

4/18/2010: One of the first things a lot of motorcycle owners do when they buy a new bike is change out the stock exhaust pipes for an aftermarket brand for a better sound and added performance. Cobra is introducing two new exhaust products that not only look good but sound great.
