Abrasion Resistant Jeggings to Wear on Your Motorcycle

Protection and sexy all in one!

By Genevieve Schmitt, Editor

For style-conscious women riders, there can never be enough motorcycle riding apparel that looks cute, sexy, or fashionable. So when we find a piece that fits that bill, we like to share about it.

Draggin Jeans, one of the original companies making abrasion-resistant motorcycle riding denim jeans, now has a skin-tight “jegging” called Stealthz, that’s lined with Kevlar and Dyneema, two of the strongest abrasion-resistant fibers.

My riding buddy Debbie models the Stealthz jeggings beside her Harley-Davidson Road King trike. The jeggings are made from black stretch leatherette, a leather-like material, and lined with Kevlar and Dyneema.

What’s a “jegging?” It’s a cross between a jean and a legging that was brought on by the resurgence of skinny jeans in the late 2000s when a higher demand for an even tighter style of pants came about. Draggin Jeans says it received a lot of inquiries from women riders for a protective “legging” for riding. The Stealthz is the answer.

So how tight are they? You be the judge. The Stealthz definitely “give” a bit when seated as they are designed specifically for motorcycle riding. That said, you can see the backside waist ride down a bit here. I wouldn’t recommend wearing these on long journeys; theyre best for quick jaunts where style matters when you hop off the bike.

Impact zones of Stealthz jeggings on the inside front are lined with Draggin Jeans patented combo-fabric of Kevlar and Dyneema, the latter boasting the title of the worlds strongest fiber. Its 40 percent stronger than Kevlar and 15 times stronger than steel.

The abrasion-resistant lining extends to the impact zones in the back including the full rear-end and sides of the legs to the knees. And no scratchiness here! The yellow fabric is very soft and the black leatherette fabric inside feels like felt against your legs.

The wide waistband that lands just above the belly button ensures the pants stay in place. It’s elastic so you just pull on these pants. No buttons or fasteners. Just like regular jeggings!

How about my friend Debbie who lets me take a photo of her butt this close up! You can barely see her panty lines thanks to the extra thickness the yellow fabric on the inside creates. Belt loops give riders the option to wear a belt, either for function or for fashion.

The pant legs are like skinny jeans, tight against the ankles, so you’ll have to tuck these pants into your boots.

For women who dream of actually riding in black leather jeans, but are concerned about the protection factor—leather can rip—these lined leatherette jeggings look like leather but have that added layer of abrasion-resistance should your legs come in contact with the pavement.

And while they look super cool—think starlet on a café racer in the 60s—they’re not that cool in warm weather. The black absorbs the heat, and the extra layer of textile on the inside traps it in. I prefer to wear these in cool 70-degree weather. In temps above 80 degrees with the sun out, I found these pants start to get warm. So, the Stealthz have the added benefit of being a go-to “warmer” pair of riding pants.

The jeggings are sexy as they hug your curves. You will definitely stand out in a crowd wearing these, so prepare for lots of looks.

The Draggin Stealthz is available in waist sizes XS to XL. Because Draggin Jeans is a worldwide company, be sure to visit U.S. size conversion on the sizing chart on the company website for more details.

Draggin Jeans Stealthz are priced at $319. You can order online from DragginJeans.net. They are based in Australia but ship all over the world including the U.S.

  1. Great article. Thank you. One question. Do these jeggings breathe a little, so as to not overheat the legs and such?

    1. Hi Kerri,The reviewer states in the article, “And while they look super cool—think starlet on a café racer in the 60s—they’re not that cool in warm weather. 2. Although the pants and the boots are amazing to the eye, western boots are not motorcycle safety wear. If she comes off that bike for whatever reason those boots will not stay on her feet. But to the eye the pants and the boots are amazing.

  3. She looks amazing! The leggings are exciting, but those boots absolutely rock!

  4. If they don’t fit your body type, don’t get them. I’m petite and slender and would love a pair of these. The most protective pants I’ve found on the market are made for women who are a lot curvier than I am, so they hang kind of weird on my body. There’s nothing wrong with making a style that fits people who are a different size than you. The industry has plenty of jeans for women of average size as well.

  5. Once again, the industry has missed the market for the average size woman.

    1. Worse for Wear does custom orders so please don’t rush to judgments here. I’ve met customers from size small all the way to XXXL wearing Worse for Wear and very content with their purchase.

  6. I wish I had her figure. It would not be a pretty sight to see me in those skin tight jeans.
