Sassy Up Your Ride
Charlene Casey has created a way for women riders to feel stylish on a motorcycle – or as she likes to call it, “getting sassified.” SassyBiker was founded earlier this year as a way for female motorcycle riders to show off their love of riding in a more creative, sassy and female way. She finds her inspiration and tools in Swarovski crystals. Charlene has always had a love for jewelry and mosaics, and that love has turned into her passion. She says she became interested in motorcycle gear after learning to ride and discovered that most items were not brightly colored, much less, feminine.

The SassyBiker canvas is in the form of helmets, motorcycles and coming soon, leather. Charlene can pretty much duplicate any idea to complement an already custom design on your motorcycle, or she can take from your inspiration and create beautiful designs that she says youll just love.

In the brief SassyBiker existence, she has also created bike wraps these almost “sticker-like” creations allowing riders to customize a motorcycle at a fraction of the cost of a custom paint job. And the best part is, it can be interchangeable and allow you to have several outfits for your bike, for less than the cost of a single paint job. For the bike wraps, any simple design, spread, photo or image you may have can easily be blown up and “printed” onto an acrylic wrap and then installed over your bike like a sleeve.

  1. Thank you so much to WRN and Genevieve Schmitt for profiling Sassybiker. I absolutely love customizing the helmets for my clients but want everyone to know that safety is first and foremost in my mind when working with helmets. The fight for the cure for breast cancer is vital to me as one of my best friends is in the fight of her life. Please support the Conga III and their Ride for the Cure.

  2. Does this mean that it's safe to put glue and stickers onto helmets? My helmet came with a note that said it would not be safe if I did that.

    1. You can put anything on the helmet, but I think the manufacturer has to put that disclaimer on there for liability reasons — meaning if you alter the helmet it could affect its performance. A sticker isn't going to alter the performance too much I wouldn't think.

  3. Sassybiker is so talented and deserves this great article. Thanks so much.
Wow, what beautiful work she does.

  4. I have two of Charlene's Sassy Biker helmets and they are gorgeous. The workmanship is phenomenal that Charlene does on these helmets. Fellow riders are awed by how beautiful my helmets are and of course, I tell them all about Sassy Biker and how Charlene, the owner, made all of the riders' pink helmets for our Women's Breast Cancer Conga II ride we did this year. I highly recommend Sassy Biker helmets, they are awesome!

  5. Thanks WRN for featuring SassyBiker
I have seen several of Char's SassyBiker helmets in person when she supported 2009 Conga Ride for Breast Cancer and made up some beautiful Pink Ribbon helmets. The work is quality and beautiful. And oh, how those helmets “bling” in the sun!

  6. Great article on Sassybiker. She deserves it, I for one have three of her helmets there are a few more on the Island here done by Char. Her work is one of a kind. She knows her stuff and is one caring lady. She supported our Conga II Ride for Breast Cancer with the BC helmet and is also supporting us again for 2010. Magnificent, I hope here business grows huge.
