Well Bren..guess I'll make you jealous....today started out with 63 and ended up at 84. Very unusual temps for this time of year and of course it's making Mother Nature create all sorts of nasty stuff. Last year we had that awful ice/snow storm in Jan. and was just really cold afterwards. Now unseasonably warm. We'd made plans to go to Highlands, NC. but when the clock went off he said.."The bed sure does feel good." So back to sleep we go with clock reset. Then his phone rings (he's on call this weekend) so I go shower and he finally gets there and out and ready. We took the pups so I was gathering their stuff and he's on the phone again. We go meet one of the other somewhat new riders..late due to phone call. We pull in and back on the phone. She and I just chat while we wait! He told the guy when he got a diaghram of what he was doing and if it didn't work to call but otherwise to not call him again! No more calls for the day :D Cheaha Mtn State Park is about 80 miles..maybe..so it's an easy day trip so that's where we went. Stopped at a BBQ place and got carry out so we ate up on the mtn. It's the highest point in Alabama. There were lots of m/c's out and all kinds. Some were really loud, others you could barely hear. The parking at "the store" isn't the greatest so it always make me a little nervous. There's some potholes, some loose gravel, it's not level, and it's shaped pretty weird too. But you deal with it. Had sunshine most of the day and then some clouds started moving in. Told BF that it looked like rain and he said yep sure does. Well the drops started falling when we were about 4 miles from home. May sound strange but we didn't get wet but we were damp. Oh yeah, BF had his sidecar today (for the pups) so he wore his shorty helmet...may not do that again...he had a wasp visit inside it so he got a couple of stings.
BF plans to ride with the Rat Pack (Triumph group) tomorrow. He's trying to get me to go with him and ride his Triger. May go. I haven't ridden that bike yet so I may go. Will see how I feel in the morning. He did say I could ride my m/c if I wanted to. Guess he wants me to go. I'll think about it. The boys usually play a lot harder than I play! Am always afraid that I'll just be a thorn in their side.
The pollen is killing us down here..today it's over 3100. Only gonna get worse. Mainly trees and weeds right now.

Debra, no envy from me, reached 76 here and I uncovered and fired up the bike and instead of the wash, wax and polishing I planned, we did an 80 mile trip to Middlefield and Mespotamia, Amish country, again. It was my first this year and I was a litle nervous, afraid that I would forget how to ride, took a quick trip around the neighborhood, worked through all the important bits and felt good when we finally got on the road. We were a group of 3, bikes were everywhere, dozens of them and I was surprised that each one 'waved', even the crotch rockets. We had icecream at the General Store, sampled dips and cheeses, bought a few things and had a hilly, curvey ride home.
I was tired but pleased with the way I felt about how I rode, turns weren't as ragged as I was afraid they would be, no near panic moments, it was a good, safe ride.
Home again, home again, jiggety jig. Brenda

Took a little 100 mile ride Sunday around NE OKlahoma to check out a new seat. The ride was great :) But the seat was not :( It's going back to the dealership today.

Yep...the rump has to be happy or the whole body is unhappy!

We had our monthly meeting today that a great turnout. Had the usual door prizes, 50-25-25 tickets and lots and lots of laughs. We had some new members and several visitors. We also had our yearly Blessing of the Bikes that's provided by the CMA. There wasn't a planned ride so one of our new riders and both of us just took a loop around somewhere to go nowhere. So no place particular...just to ride. We did that for almost 3 hrs and then headed home. May ride a little in the morning but am planning to go with the new rider so she can ride in a hot air balloon. I will have my camera. She said it's a sort of last minute thing whether it's a go or not because they check the weather/wind/etc. befor they launch. I'm in wait mode for info.
Saw lots of motors out today so the temps in the low 70's was a good thing.

Debra, Hotair ballooning sounds like a blast, hope you get to go and take an aerial shot of your bike.

Well unfortunately we didn't go. We've had a pretty good bit of wind so they emailed her and said that the wind was to high and she'd need to reschedule. She wasn't happy! Since BF had gone to the mtns without me :o don't know how he can do that but he does! So she and I decided we'd go for pizza. Of course we rode and dinner was good. And even better was the fact that it was buy one get one free so now I have lunch and supper for tomorrow :D

Just a quick note on BF's trip. He rode about 450 miles. He made some loops that he likes to ride but he also rode the Dragon and the Cherohala. He had enough clothes to keep him warm but he said that it did get pretty chilly up there. He did get back in time to meet us for supper. And yes he made time to get by the fried pie place!

I've been gone for a week to Death Valley and had a wonderful time. We hauled the bikes in the trailer and rode out from camp each day. It was SO nice to be warm and feel the sun on my skin for a change. I took lots of pics while we were gone so I can remember when our days get rainy and dreary.
Here are a few....

Nice pics. Never heard of Scotty's Castle but not surprised. BF tells me I've lived a sheltered life :o I think we've done like many have in that there is so much here in Atlanta area and so little of it that we've seen. Might have seen more of it if there were kids. There's only a few places I can think of that I'd like to see...Botanical Gardens, Fern Bank, the zoo and a couple of other places but we tend to do the same as your pics look....get away from all the hoopla and out to yourselves. If there's any interesting stories we're all ears...ok eyes.

Thanks for the sunshine Teresa, it does look warm.
What kind of miles did you do for the trip, including trailering?
How did you get 5 pisc in one post? I'll have to try that, the first time I did a ride report it limited me to just 3 pics.
Keep safe, Brenda.
