A place to reach out to others

Yes tlc, for me, riding is turning out to be like sailboat racing, we do it all summer then talk about it all winter, that makes me pretty boring, especially to people who aren't interested in either.
Pretty soon I'll run out of ride reports.

Yesterday was a whopping 65*F here and we took advantage and left work early for a spin. We went the back roads into town which made for a long ride with some nice corners for me to practice. The hubby was leading as usual and for this ride he picked up the pace just a wee little bit. He likes to do that every now and again to make me work a little harder on the ride for improvement. He knows if the pace is too quick for me I will just slow down as I have many a time. He really is a pretty good mentor for the most part but we do have our days Image. Oh, back to the ride... I wore my new doo-rag which I will post about in the right section and less clothing. We ended up in town for dinner then a pretty quick shot home. It was SO nice not to have 45 layers on and be all bundled up like the Pillsbury dough boy.

GREEN with envy, no riding weather for me on the weekends, I work about 2 hours extra everyday and get home in the cold and dark. Wednesday was 60', Hubby rode, I worked late. Tomorrow is going to be cold but I'm hoping not cold enough keep me from doing a little polishing and waxing of the bike in the garage.
Do want to see the doorag.

We rode to supper to meet the group (13) for a wonderful Cajun meal. We had been there before so we knew what to expect but the others were pleased with their meals and with the fact that they had leftovers. Since we're still on the old time we left about 1830 with just a little bit of daylight and home in the dark about 2100. Think it was about 50 to get there but about 45 coming home. And the wind was trying to blow us off the road too! Having the electrics on the way home felt really good!
One of our newer members looked at me (with my gear on) and says "You rode tonight?" Told him yep, sure did. So his next question was "Do you own a car?" Told him that I did.

Spring is on the way ladies...the Robins have been here a couple of weeks now.

All next week should be nice warm riding weather up here where I am and I am not that far from you, so I hope you get the same. One of those days I will be doing the same, polishing and waxing.

Evening, we took the scenic route for supper but it was a short one. Nice temp and still a little bit of sun in the sky. It was to one the Mexican places and we sat outside so he could enjoy what sunshine that was left. A couple that was on the patio when we got there talked some about the m/c's and the female must have ask me 5 times or more about me riding such a big bike...told her that was all I'd had since I started riding 23 yrs. ago. They could have been in their 30's. She just continued to made comments about women don't usually ride that big a bike, do they? And she asked a couple of times if I played tennis? Have no idea how that was related to conversation  BF had his sidecar and the guy said he'd NEVER put one on his bike and that he'd NEVER ride in one, etc. guess ya'll see how that conversation went so we tired of them very quickly. I bet that all of you know that when you say NEVER it always seems to come back and bite you in the bum, right? After they left we figured that they probably had a m/c as a status symbol and saw riding very differently than we did. We did wish them well and to keep the rubber on the ground but we certainly don't want to meet them on the road

Hi All
It finally stopped raining and today was just beautiful weather! Checked over my bike, grabbed my new tour master motif jacket, settled the butterflies, and then headed down my steep driveway for the first ride of spring! I decided not to wait for hubby to go, just wanted to get reacquainted at my own pace. Made sure I had the cell just in case. I was nervous being by myself at first, but then the rumble of the engine and the clean air felt so good! My first stop sign I stalled the motor, but that was it. I rode into town to practice a little in a large parking area and down to the port to take a look at the ocean. The fog was still hanging on in town, down hwy 101 to ride by the ocean. I am always amazed by the different smells. Continued the ride following the road that goes along the famous Rogue River. The fisherman are very busy right now and the road that follows the river is a little twisty in spots. The Lobster Creek bridge spans over the mighty Rogue, it's incredible! My new jacket was everything I'd hoped for, not so heavy as the leather jacket. Traveled down the other side of the river and back home. I'm hoping this is the start of a great riding season and that I'll be able to put some miles on my bike and become more comfortable. Next time I'll bring the hubby :D

Wow Kathy,
Yep, sometimes taking that first step isn't easy and then after we take it we wonder why we thought it was such a difficult decision. Glad you had a great ride. I've heard many times that 101 is the place to ride out there and the names of the places certainly make it sound even more beautiful. Not sure where some of our roads/areas got there names but they'll make you scratch your head...Hog Liver Rd., Buggar Mt., Dog River  Wonder what was going on when they got their names
