Karin, so happy to hear he is doing better. It will take time. You really should take his advise and go for a ride and clear your head. It does help.
If you don't feel good about leaving him alone, maybe one of his friends will come and sit with him.

Hello Karin, Anna here. I found the forum you mentioned in the women riders event message conversation when you asked if I read other forums. When you said you are the mother of the son who got hit by a car. I thought to my self I have to look for this forum and I just read all the messages under the one phone call so to understand what went on with the accident. OMG my heart reaches out to you and your son. I do wish you both all the best and hope he heals and recovers very soon. I agree going for a ride on the Harley certainly is some good therapy for you to help you get through all this. Be safe and careful as you ride. Take care.

Hey Karin,
From what you said, the look, "I can do this myself Mom", it sounds like Chris will be fine, thank God. I am so happy for your family after such a terrible scare.
Of course the idiots of the world will try and blame someone else. Many years ago an extremely drunk man, so drunk that he didn't realize he had no wheels left on one side of his car after crashing into a concrete block, he staggered out of his car and just slurred, "Well, guess I'll drive home now." He didn't even have the coordination to open his door. This happened when I was sitting in a car nearby with a group of friends at a burger joint. Our car windows were open and one friend narrowly missed being hit in the head by a flying hubcap from the drunk's car. He tried to tell police that we were the ones who were in his car.
When tragedy happens because of someone's deliberate carelessness, I like my fantasy revenges. I, too, am considered a very kind person, but even kind people have good reason to get angry. The fantasy revenges that only dance in my brain somehow help me to deal and I have been through a lot! There's a great video I saw yesterday that I think you and others here would enjoy, I'll find it for you.
BTW, nice to see the German connections here. My Dad was German.

Karin, keep mothering him, you'll know when it gets to be smothering, you both need it.
I know what you mean about sharing with the other women here, the support and encouragement can't be bought. The women I work with aren't really interested, sometimes they'll ask to be polite, so I just mention it in passing when we talk about our day off. Brenda

Karin - There will always be a feeling of need between a mother and child. No matter how fast they grow or how old they become, at one point or another no matter what happends, mother needs child, child needs mothers support. There is beauty in it which will never go away. As too a motorcycle rider always needs the time to ride. We all know that feeling, my family and co-workers all thought I lost my mind when I told them I bought a bike and was going to learn to ride. They try to be nice about it to my face, but when I walk away I know they all shake their heads and think she is nuts. But since I ride I know more people and made more friends then I every did all thourgh my life. So as we can live, laugh, love. I am so glad I became a rider, I keep thinking people that do not ride sure are missing something.....Take care. Anna

Hi Burgmanlady, thank for asking we just got home from the doc.Still no therapy for him,he is pretty upset. The x-ray said that one gap behind the screws is not healing the way the doc was hoping for.He said we have to come back in 6 weeks and take another x-ray if it hasnt healed then he has to open him back up and fix it a diffrent way.Chris is doing very good he was walking around with only 1 crotch but he got in trouble with the Doc for that.He is in no pain anymore so he thought he would be allright to walk without,Wrong the Doc laid down the Law today. So Chris found out today that he still has to Baby it.The Bills are coming in $10,888.00 from the hospital,$800.00 from the Ambulance and $5,400.00 from the Doc so far.The Lawyer said to mail it all to him.So of I shipped them. This Weekend is going to be my Weekend for riding cant wait,Love to you all,Karin

Thanks for the update Karin, Chris is still on my nightly list. He needs to do what the Doctor says, complications at this stage could extend or hamper his recovery in ways that can't be forseen. Don't settle too quickly with the insurance company, you may have bills for this for many, many months.
Bust out this weekend at the woman's event, we're expecting a report.

Faye, I've still got Tammy on my list too, how is she doing?

Good Healing to All, Brenda
