Thanks for the tips Kim. I will keep in mind the tip of not coloring before a long ride.

I see this is your first post so welcome to the forum :^)

I paid $15 for this thing, and either I am not using it right or it is just a pain in the you know what. I don't think I am going to use it.

Morning Faye, are you talking about the helmet liner? There doesn't seem to be much to it, is it a wonky fit? I was thinking of getting it as an alternative to a kerchief.

Hey B'Lady..are you talking about the hemet liner? One of the guys on another forum said it makes him think of the "caps" for the little Amish girls. My Sliks has a small piece of elastic in the back but it's only to keep that section from beinging so large...still doesn't fit tight. I've got two different sizes of the Sliks and one snugger (if that's a word??) than the other. When I have one on I often think of the pilots from the early war movies and they had on the leather headgear with the ear flaps and had staps that went under their chins. If this doesn't help send me a PM and I'll try again. I'm at a friends house puppy sitting her 9 fur babies for a couple of days and I don't have phone service out here.

I ordered a couple of these - http://www.schampa.com/Doo_Z_s_s/75.htm

They fit great, since they're stretchy. I have not had the chance to try them out yet, they just came yesterday, but they are supposed to wick away moisture and you can wear them 2 ways, covering your head completely, or like a wide headband. I have short hair, but these will easily accommodate longer hair.

There's also the Style Savers - http://www.stylesaverscarf.com/

I just wanted to follow up here on this thread. I did purchase two of the Shampa's. One is a head band and the other a doo-rag I guess you call it. They both work ok for me but my hair is real long and still whips around and slips out. They both have wide elastic bands to keep them on your head which is a good thing and bad thing for me. All the material is gathered down to the 1" + elastic band that causes it to bunch up right were my glasses need to go over my ears. So my glasses either sit down too far on my nose or dig into my nose.

That sent me on a quest for a different style. I just happened to be reading a review on WRN about headsets and found a banner add for Riders Wraps which are made in the US and NOT Thailand or Mexico which I LOVE! :D So I ordered 2 from Riders Wraps but have not been able to try them out on the bike. These wraps you have to tie on and the one I chose has a tail. The tieing on part will be a learning curve from me since I don't do lots of girly types of stuff (I only know how to apply mascara  ) and picking out the right colors and such I really suck at. The wrap looks like it will do a better job of holding all my horse hair in place and not whip the crap out of me when I'm riding down the road.
I'll report back after I have done the ride test and let ya know how they do for me.

Here is a link so you can have a lookie if you like: http://www.riderswraps.com/category/02_ ... inestones/

I ended up ordering this one: http://www.riderswraps.com/product/DISP ... Scarf.html
and this one (which I probably will be returning since it is a little too blingy for me although it is beautiful): http://www.riderswraps.com/product/DISP ... Scarf.html

They were super quick to ship(the same day) and sent them USPS priority mail and I had mine is 3 days.

Theresa, thanks for the bump on this. I have been eyeing one of the TotalWraps since last summer, the Painted Man in red, you prompted me to hit the site and I found them on sale, HALF PRICE $$!! I also used the WRN code and saved 10% more, Thanks Genevieve. I always have a bunch of cotton hankerchieves around, the $1.00 ones from the discount stores, just for a little variety and maybe to match a shirt, I'm not at all about the 'cutesy outfit' look, but I do try to avoid the "OMG, what has she got on her head" stare. I have longish hair too, usually just have it in a ponytail, I'm not good at styling.
The ones you chose will look great with your dark hair and keep the blingy rose, wear it when you ride to a special event and make the cager women jealous, you've earned your M/C riding chops, flaunt it a little.
Oh, and take pictures.
Brenda, who will be watching her mailbox.

Brenda, I almost ordered one of the Painted Man wraps but opted for the all black with a wee bit of *bling* thrown in. You will find that these folks are very prompt to get your wrap out. I think they shipped/mailed the same day or the next (Priority Mail).

I did get to use my new wrap yesterday on my ride. I am still learning how to property tie the thing on so I did have it come off when I took off my helmet (maybe they all do?). I have super thick hair and lots of it so almost every hat I wear comes off, it's just the nature of the beast I guess. Anyhow, with some fussing I was able to get it back on for the ride home. The way the wrap fits I really liked and it did correct the horrible problem I was having with my glasses not fitting on my face correctly which is a huge plus. Most of my hair stayed out of my face but some still whipped me a time or two. I will have to do the pony tail thing like you do Brenda.

I think I will keep the rose one just because I like it. :D

My next quest is to find better RX sunglasses for riding. I'm looking for something with more "wrap" to them....

Here is a pic of me wearing the wrap. I hate having my pic taken but you asked ;)
