I, too, find it amusing when I catch a glimpse of myself in my helmet. And then there's the smiling at people or mouthing words and then realizing they can't see my face!

From what I learned, the first thing you need to figure out is what brand/style fits the shape of your head best. When I was taking my BRC course I was going to borrow my friend's full face helmet rather than use one of the school's, and it was awful. I guess he doesn't have the same shape head as me! I have more of a rounder head. My helmet is a HJC C-17, and I love it! It has a lot of vents so you get a lot of air flow, has notches for glasses, is also SNELL approved, and was a great price. Comes in lots of colors & styles.
