Hey Leanne, Glad you got a few miles in while home this time. Nothing for me since November, might be able to take the cover off by the end of March, but will certainly tell you all about it.

Hey Leanne hope you got to fly those kites!!! The wind here would have taken the humans up with them. The wind has been really rough for several days. And I am jealous too because I have never never ever ever gotten a kite up in the air! Mine just flopped back to/on the ground so I just smile when I see one up in the air. Know you'll be waiting for that next ride.

Morning Ladies,
Went for a ride yesterday that started with an errand for a washing machine part that they didn't have and then on to north Ga. for the other errand which was to check out the Givi trunks so he could see what fit and what looked the best. A few weeks ago he put his Givi on the m/c but didn't "lock" it in so when he made the turn onto the main road it came off. He didn't realize that it departed company until he got to work so he called and I looked for it but someone had already picked it up. I called the police dept. just in case someone turned it in. It had his computer, Garmin, and other stuff that was important so he was very thankful when it was turned in....only after the guy couldn't get in it. The guy had messed up the lock. BF had just "sat" it on the rack and not locked it in.
Ok..now to the story of the day. I was in "slow" mode so it was a much slower ride than normal. After we got out of town he started asking at almost every stop sign/light/etc. if I was ok. Kept telling him that I was ok just not in fast mode. He told me several times that I just wasn't keeping up like I usually did. Told him again that I was just in slow mode. He was concerned. Now, after the ride, I think slow mode was a good mode to be in!! Since we'd had the rough weather come through on Friday/early Sat. (EF3 tornado for 29 miles in some areas) so the mtns had their share of the rain and wind. There were lots of places where the leaves and debris had washed down the side of the mtn and then out into the road so you couldn't see what was in them. Lots of drivways had also washed out into the road from the water so some places were sandy and some had gravel added just to add a bit more pucker power. We came around several curves and had the above to deal with but we also had several cagers pull out and be moving at snail pace. Don't think most of the could see us 'cause we didn't see them until we came around the curve. One curve was a surprise because there was a "dead rock" about 2/3's the size of a basketball with several smaller rocks around it in the middle of the road. It had come off the mtn side. And if all this hasn't been enough we came around another curve only to see several cars/trucks stopped in the road and some were turned cross ways so we thought there had been a bad accident and were thankful that it wasn't. There was a tree across the road and several guys were trying to get it moved over to the side.
So with all this being part of our day I can say that I'm glad that I was in "slow" mode.
Well I think the lesson here is to say....ladies...all those things that you never thought could happen just might happen on a nice ride to the mtns. or to anywhere so be prepared for that little surprise that may be waiting for you.

Well Debra, I guess your angel that was flying slowly too. I would have had heart attacks rounding those curves, probably would have run into something. Good job of letting your inner self set the pace.

Yep...it was a nice day to enjoy all those yellow daffies and the paper-whites that were up and smiling. And I am most thankful that my angel can adapt. Forgot to put in that on one of the curves we almost had a head on with another m/c because his side had a truck/passing lane since he was coming up hill...his tires were either at the yellow line or on it so that means that almost all of his body and m/c were in our lane. If the guy had had on knee pucks he could have been on a race track!! BF said that he could have easily smacked the guy if he'd (BF) had put his arm out.

Wow Debra, that sounds like quite an experience. Yeah, I think the little guardian angel on your shoulder told you to take it slow. I get those messages from mine, too, and have learned to never ignore them. Glad you are safe! I am with you there, my friend! If you can't see around the corner, sloooow doooown!! Glad your BF was reunited with his Givi bag and all the important stuff in it. An embarrassing "oops" moment for him, I'm sure, like leaving your purse on top of the car as you drive away.

We took advantage of a nice day on Saturday and took a ride along the river. Nice ride and lots of folks taking advantage. The further up the road we went (and higher in elevation) the more snow we saw on the sides of the road. At one point we pulled over and decided it was time to head back since we were running into sanding gravel on the road to which I'm not a big fan of  . I was super duper careful and slow was the tune I was playing to myself. Along the ride back home I did see some nice rocks that I plan to fetch for around my pond. I can't help looking for them....

Here is a pic at the point were we decided to head back home.
