Bike pics

Postby ADVStrom14 » Sun Apr 10, 2016 6:50 am

Since I am stuck in the house (well at least NOT able to get on a bike) on another blustery and cold day, I was going through some pictures. I found a picture of me on my very first bike in 2008! So I figured I'd share that one and where I've progressed since then.

Thanks for the pics, ADV14, although I can't see the first one. And FYI, red is the fastest color.

Its been beautiful out here in central Washington. Lots of folks riding this weekend. Pretty depressing as I sit here at work. ~sigh~

2005:
My first bike: 2005 Honda Rebel. 30,000+ miles and I still love riding it.

2008:
Roughly 200cc's bigger, but twice the size, a 1976 BMW R45/N:
Its getting some work done right now; Heads are packed and ready to be shipped to Oregon along with new valves and springs and guides, and then it'll get new tires, new brake lines, new fork seals, some re-wiring, and rebuilt carbs and fuel lines. She'll be so happy!!!

2013:
Moving up, 1997 BMW R850R. I don't really ride this one as often as I would like. I've always loved this style of BMW, and when I saw it in the showroom of a Guzzi dealer in Watertown, SD, I bought it. I certainly didn't need a new to me bike, but...... hehehehe

2014:
And finally, my 1998 Moto Guzzi V11 EV. V11 for 1100cc.

I do have a Guzzi Scura 1100 sport bike, but no pics of it.

Nice rides, deeg. That '76 R45/N is a grand vintage lady.

Brenda, I am not sure what happened with the first picture but I have fixed it so maybe it will show up now! :)

Thanks for sharing your rides deeg! I love all of them but that '76 BMW is my fave!

Love that white GSX-R! I wanted a white one most of my life. My husband is anti sport bike so the Harley will have to do, but they sure are pretty.

Thanks Ana_Bianca1200! I loved it the moment I saw it! There is something sexy about a white bike. But there is also something sexy about riding in confidence and regardless of the bike and I feel more BA on the V-Strom because I am more comfortable on it. ....still a sexy ride though! But she is someone else's baby now!

Here is our Dyna Low Rider, slowly but surely I feel better and less nervous. I went out and rode around the neighborhood for around an hour. Minus the stall/oopsie clutch let out too fast at the end of the alley in the beginning, I did pretty well. Our alley sucks!! Between the potholes and the huge dip crater at the end turning onto a road that is seriously crowned. It frankly makes me very nervous. I tried to turn out faster instead of basically duck walking it onto road and almost took a spill. But other than that, once on the roads I did pretty well. Avoided a car door opened in to me as I had my head up and watching for it. Pissed at the guy who passed on left as I was turning right. Idiot!! Made the turn back into alley perfect. For some reason the dip and potholes don't bother me when turning from road in but trying to get from alley to road is challenging.
