Harley-Davidsons Private and Small Group New Rider Training

Get behind the handlebars and learn to ride a motorcycle with low pressure

Have you always wanted to learn to ride a motorcycle but are intimidated by a group learning experience?
Harley-Davidson’s new Learn to Ride and Experience the Ride programs are designed to provide flexible scheduling and a learning pace that suits the rider’s needs. Personal coaching sessions can be scheduled one-on-one or as a private group with up to four participants. These two new options are designed to complement the existing Harley-Davidson Riding Academy programs and make learning to ride a motorcycle more attainable and accessible.

Experience the Ride gives potential new riders a taste of what its like to control a motorcycle in a low commitment environment. Theres no pressure to continue if riders have no desire to enroll in a Riding Academy course after the 90-minute session.

Experience the Ride

This newly developed program is for those who have never ridden a motorcycle but are interested in trying without the commitment of signing up for a full course. Under the guidance of a professional coach, participants will ride a Harley-Davidson Street 500 motorcycle equipped for new riders on a controlled practice range. The total experience lasts about an hour and a half.
Experience the Ride is a pressure-free way for potential riders to get behind the handlebars and experience riding a motorcycle for the first time. This program can help people decide if learning to ride is right for them, alleviate potential anxiety before taking rider training, and help realize how motorcycles can unlock their dreams of personal freedom.

Learn to Ride

For those that have decided to take it to the next step, select Harley-Davidson dealers are now offering the same time-tested rider training curriculum as the Riding Academy New Rider Course. However, the Learn to Ride program enables students to schedule private sessions with personal coaches and learn all the techniques and riding strategies required to earn a motorcycle endorsement.
In the classroom, students get to know the motorcycle they will be riding and learn the basics of rider safety skills. On the practice range, they learn to build skills and confidence, including braking, turning, and skilled maneuvers.
For those who’ve always wanted to learn to ride a motorcycle with personal attention, this is what they have been waiting for. Sessions can be scheduled with up to four participants—a great option for spouses, friends, and individuals to finally learn and fulfill their dreams of riding a motorcycle.
Benefits of the Learn to Ride program include highly flexible scheduling, learning at the rider’s pace, more focused attention from the coach, ability to repeat training modules if needed, and completion of private sessions alone or with a small group of friends. So many women in larger training classes feel anxious and rushed—this program is designed to alleviate the anxiety that comes naturally with new rider jitters.
