Back in the saddle again!

Back in the saddle again!

Postby Deb-OK » Mon Jun 27, 2016 10:56 am

Hi everyone. It has been 9 months since my refresher safety course. Been looking around for an affordable bike, and one I felt confident to ride. My BMW r80 that I once owned was too high to firmly plant my feet. I am sure over time I would have mastered it but parts were expensive and no time to ride with four kids ;)
(fast forward 20 years) My husband recently bought a FJR1300 Sport-Tourer and wanted me to try his Boulevard C50T. I think it is going to work for me! Much more confident with the cruiser style, I don't have to keep looking for a bike, and it is really pretty :D
Now that the kids are grown I have much more time! Hubby and I are already planning a road trip.
Who says you can't be a grandma and ride too! Best of both worlds going here!
Thanks for all the articles and posts. You gave me courage to not only remember the fun I use to have when I was young and fearless but to make new memories at this segment of life. Happy riding!

Hi Deb, Glad you're back to the forum and back on 2 wheels. The C50T is a nice ride and hopefully is a good fit for you. Convenient, too, that Hubby is gifting ( ;) ) the bike to you, what a guy. Did you and Hubby ride together before the kids came along?

My husband and I rode on his Suzuki 650 back when I was in college. I think the common interest in bikes was a good "ice-breaker" in our courtship!
