Harley Dyna Wide Glide Gets A Makeover
How does the new 2010 personality stack up?
2/7/2010: I'm always a little nervous when Harley-Davidson takes a particular model out of its line-up that's been there for more than a decade, especially one that is a favorite of mine. That usually means the model is going to get a makeover -- and that's exactly what happened when the Dyna Wide Glide, as we knew it, was discontinued in 2009.

2009 BMW K 1200 LT: Aging Gracefully
If it ain't broke…
1/25/2010: With all of last year's attention focused on the upgraded K 1300s, it seems the 2009 K 1200 LT had been left to collect dust in the back of the East Coast motorcycle press fleet shed. Is this on purpose? Could the aging LT be next in line to receive the new engine and upgraded components?

Can't Afford A New Bike in 2010? Then Accessorize!
Guide to Customizing Vulcan 900 Cruisers
1/11/2010: The New Year—that time when resolutions fill our list and guide our dreams for the next 365 days. While economic situations might force us to cross "new motorcycle" off our wish list, we can still give our current rides a little love and some new bling to ring in 2010 and keep some cash in our wallets as well.

2010 Harley-Davidson Fat Boy Lo: The Lowest Harley
But does Lo mean women will like it?
11/16/2009: For the last few years, since Harley-Davidson has made a concerted effort to market specifically to women, there has been at least one new model every year that has features most women riders deem desirable -- that being a very low seat height, reduced reach to the bars, and great styling.

Why Women Love The Harley-Davidson Softail Deluxe
One of the more popular bikes for female riders
9/19/2009: If you asked me which motorcycle among Harley-Davidson's Big Twin models is the most popular with women riders, I'd answer the Softail Deluxe FLSTN, judging by my own observations attending events and getting out there among the female motorcycling community. Ever since the motorcycle's introduction in 2005, I've seen more women riding that motorcycle than any of the other Softails, Dynas, and Touring model platforms, those considered the "Big Twins."

2008 Ducati GT 1000: Worth a Second Look
Retro outside, modern inside
8/8/2009: I realize I'm not the target market demographic Ducati intended for the GT 1000. After all, I was only about to be conceived when Ducati designer Fabio Taglioni sketched out an image of the bike that would become legendary to many motorcycle historians and the basis for this modern-day, retro-styled sport-standard.

Yamaha's TMAX Maxi Scooter
Feels like a supersport motorcycle, but rides like a scooter
7/31/2009: "Supersport" designated motorcycles command awe and appreciation for their combination of sleek, go-fast looks and sporty, go-fast performance. On the other hand, scooters often don the less-sexy monikers of economical, practical, and even cute.

Kawasaki Vulcan 1700 V-Twin Cruisers
Four big bikes you can get excited about
7/6/2009: Kawasaki unveiled its all-new, completely redesigned-for-2009 Vulcan 1700 family in sunny Mill Valley, California, which includes the Classic and the Classic LT (for long touring). The routes were among Bay Area rider's favorites: backroads through golden hills and the redwood groves to the Pacific Coast Highway. But the chaparral-lined twisties from Stinson Beach to the top of Mount Tamalpias provided a demonstration of the Vulcan's surprising grace and maneuverability.
